Hello all you lovelies! I just wanted to tell you all that I just came back from Costa Rica and it was a transformational, enlightening, educational, phenomenal experience. I danced, I tranced, I did 5 DRUM SOLOS! The yoga was intense, but it helped us to open. The dance focus was simple and clear but physically challenging. It was so incredible and I have come back even more dedicated to studying dance and developing my art. I have much to show the girls in my class (you know who you are), some great drills and techniques (laybacks!) and some wise advice about how to be a good performer. Thank you so much Rachel B, Mariah, Rachel Ann and Rachel Brookmire for putting it all together for us and for your dedication to the dance. The group of women that participated were kind, friendly, supportive and open and for a little while we were one big tribe. I made some great friends and I hope to dance with you all again soon! I have posted some pictures on my profile and will post some more soon. Also, thank you Palika for guiding me through the years of preparation that lead me to this experience. I was well prepared and I shouldn't have been so nervous.
Also, thanks to our hosts at Pura Vida. Bellydancers took over their peaceful little yoga villas for a week and while we were there we shrieked with laugher, howled at the moon, hissed and yipped for eachother and played shocking music [sex, love and money : ) ] and they were good sports through all of it. Inviting 70 bellydancers for a week is a brave move. By the time we left the massage therapists were exhausted and the bar was empty.
I feel like a dancer.
Love to you all,
Laura
