The webclips of your troupe are some of the absolute best I have ever seen (especially that Improv piece from the awards show!). Will we ever get to see more???

Re: Question for Palika
Tue, July 11, 2006 - 2:34 PMThankyou, they seem to be much loved and I'm happy they've brought joy and inspiration to soo many women. I have been on a performance sabbatical for the last 2 years due to a fall off a horse. Also though I loved the troupe, it is so much input and very little financial gain and at this juncture in my life financial security is of the utmost priority. I do have other older clips but again it takes time to edit and put them up. I just may do that sometime though.
That group of women was an unbelievable pod, each woman had so many gifts to share and there were no prima-donnas who often can sabotage the integrity of a group - I have been blessed for over 7 years with Heavy Hips, our community of women is thoughtful, conscientious, curious and committed to living lives of integrity and healing between humanity and Earth. The classes and the philosophy and practice that undergirds them have brought women together in growth, prayer and practice and small communities have blossomed outward from there, so that is deeply satisfying.
For my part, I'm in absolute transformation these days and I'm not sure how its all going to manifest, however I can truly say that Heavy HIps has been a deep and transformative gift in my small life and I'm honored for the service of it, and how its constantly honed and molded me.
Blessings, P. -

Re: Question for Palika
Tue, July 11, 2006 - 8:15 PMI would like to let you know that Heavy Hips video clips and website were one of my first experiences of Tribal Belly Dance. I found it so very inspiring and wonderful. It really gave me such joy to watch your clips and it gave me the courage to seek out someone in my area to learn this beautiful artform.
Your Troupe are a wonderful force and inspiration,
Dian
