we all come from the goddess
and to her we shall return
like a drop--of rain
flowing to the ocean

hoof and horn
hoof and horn
all that dies shall be reborn

corn and grain
corn and grain
all that falls shall rise again

for Laura and all...

The most beautiful version of this chant I've ever heard is by Robert Gass and On Wings of Song. In the early 90's the pagan/witch community was gah gah for it. I myself used this recording as a lullaby for Bryan & Shyama for many years of many moons. In fact he has recorded with the amazing ensembe voices many pagan and ritual chanting for deep heart inspiration - I highly recommend getting a few cd's. Here is an Amazon link for We All Come From the Goddess, but if you search Robert Gass & On Wings of Song you'll see all of his amazing service to the Spirit through sacred chant and song.

Goddess is alive, magic is afoot! Thanks Jessica

Yay!!!! The minute I heard you singing this I loved it loved it loved it! I made Jennife sing it with me all the way to Staff of Life after the party and then called my friend Ruth and sang it to her over the phone. How did I miss this one? Couldn't stop singing it all day Sunday. The memory of you beautiful gorgeous women of Selah singing it around the fire is precious to me now. You know when you just close your eyes and try to cling to a memory when you are experiencing a perfect moment? Anyway . . . I digress. Thank you.
    Love to you all,
    L

I Love Love Love this piece. It gave me chills the first time I heard it and it was, in fact, the first pagan song/chant that I ever learned (aeons ago). I have it on a Libana CD ( www.libana.com/ ) . I learned it as a round with this chanted over it (but I am not sure how to convey the timing of the chant):

Isis, Astarte, Diana, Hecetate, Demeter, Kali, Inana....

        Goddess is alive
        Magic is afoot

        Goddess is alive
        Magic is afoot

We all come from the Goddess
and to her we shall return... (continued)

I know that I'm outta' the loop on this, but I jsut wanted to offer that addition to the discussion sine it appears that we all really like this song. I'll mind my own business now.
