Saturday, February 28 I'm co-hosting a Hafla at my friend Aruba's house in Soquel.

She throws two Hafla's a year, and they're always a lot of fun. The Winter Hafla has a blacklight theme. Even if you don't have anything that glows under blacklight, come prepared to get "henna'd" with hi-lighter markers, which do glow under blacklight! Bring a dish to share and be prepared to dance the night away.
This will be a crowd with mixed dance styles and levels. You'll see some Cabaret, some Tribaret, some Tribal/Fusion, etc... Complete first time beginners as well as dancers of 20+ years! Again, it's not a performance venue, but a chance to dance around the living room together and have a blast.
Significant Others, both male and female are welcome. In fact, if you know of any male dancers please invite them along, that way my dear friend Sharif won't be the only guy dancing!
Bring a potluck dish to share and anything you're particularly interested in drinking. Aruba usually puts out a large Samovar of Persian tea, and her husband Omar offers up his very tasty homebrewed beer.

This event is so fun. When I started going two years ago I was very uncomfortable dancing publicly, it has helped me more than any other thing I've done to get over being dance-shy! Please join me and have a wonderful time!

Parking is a little tight, so try to carpool.
Also, call and try to RSVP so we know how many to plan for and for directions to the house.
Aruba's number is (831)479-3508
My number is (831)241-0740
