Hello Palika and the wonderful community of Heavy Hips,
I'm planning on going again to Burning Man this year, (my fourth year), and I will not be part of an established theme camp as in previous years. Rather than camp totally alone, I would LOVE to hook up with some lovely ladies (men welcome too!) from our community and am wondering who else might be planning to go to the playa this year.
I bring my RV and a shade structure and am planning to very much concentrate on my love of tribal belly dance to inspire me this year. The theme is "the green man". Wouldn't it be so cool to be camped where there's always great belly dance music playing and lovely people in tribal attire hanging out?!

Re: Heavy Hips at Burning Man anyone?!
Mon, April 23, 2007 - 8:11 AMHi Bethany,
I've never been to the man, though one of my troop members Ellice went every year for awhile and maybe the girlz in Big Sur (Jessica, Vila, Jennife?). I'm just a bit on the old sider for roughin it in the dust and the contact with sooooo many people ( i've got the mcs and ultra sensitive person thing goin' on) and then all the intoxication is a bit much for me. But.......I know there are many who love the music and dance and art. I'm sure if you put it out in class you might find some kindred souls - mayabe Kara goes and does fire dance. But I know there are lots of Tribal Belly Dance lovers that go.
And green men and women are just sprouting up all over the place - I say go dance your prayers and we can try to rouse the hipsters in class. Try posting a query for co-travelers on the yahoo group as well.
blessings, p -
